New Braunfels Pool & Spa Company does not do complete pool removal which is only necessary if a new structure is going to build over the location of the pool. Instead, we do partial removal which is the demolition of top 2 feet of the pool which is sometimes referred to as a pool “fill in”. This process will leave the area usable for landscaping and hardscaping.
1
Free Bid
New Braunfels Pool Company will provide a free written bid. The cost of pool demolition depends mostly on the type of pool, the size of the pool and ease of access to the pool area. New Braunfels Pool Company offers free estimates on all pool removal projects.
2
Check for Underground Utilities
The first thing we do prior to any pool demolition is to call Underground Service Alert (811). This is a free service provided by the utility companies. They will come out and mark where their particular service cables, pipes or wires are buried.
3
Pool Equipment
All pool equipment is disconnected and removed. If your swimming pool was equipped with a gas heater the gas must be temporarily shut off to safely disconnect.
4
Fence, Shrubs, & Decking
Fences, landscaping, shrubs, and decking in the pool area are removed and disposed of. Depending on the condition of the deck and how it ties into the backyard some customers opt to leave the decking intact.
5
Drain the Pool
First, we remove the water from your pool. Second, we commence perforating the pool floor with holes to allow for water drainage. Once this is done, we fill the lower end of the pool with gravel to allow water to travel easily through the holes made in the bottom of the pool.
6
Pool Demolition
Then the top 2 feet of the pool walls are removed to allow for future landscaping. Finally, the pool is filled with fill dirt and compacted frequently and then graded to the proper elevation. Topsoil then can be put down for fresh sod or other landscaping that you desire.
